Helping singers and pianists build confidence, technique, and artistry
American soprano Erin Holmes is recognized for her artistry, musical integrity, and versatility as both a performer and educator. A compelling singing-actress known for her expressive musicianship and articulate stage presence, Erin has built a multifaceted career spanning opera, concert performance, and music education.
A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Erin has performed with esteemed organizations including the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Opera Boston, Opera Providence, New England Light Opera, MetroWest Symphony Orchestra, Longwood Opera, MetroWest Opera, Opera del West, Strathmore Hall Opera Series (Washington D.C.), Teatro della Bicchieraia (Arezzo, Italy), and New England Conservatory Opera Theatre.
Dedicated to the creation of new works, Erin originated roles in the world premieres of Larry Bell's Holy Ghosts and Zhou Long's Madame White Snake, the latter receiving the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 2011.
In addition to her performing career, Erin is a passionate and experienced teacher with more than a decade of teaching piano and voice to students of all ages and experience levels. She is committed to developing confident, well-rounded musicians through individualized instruction that emphasizes strong musical foundations, expressive artistry, and healthy technique. Her areas of expertise include music fundamentals, audition preparation, singing in multiple languages, lyric diction for singers, and stylistic coaching across classical, choral, musical theatre, and contemporary commercial music. Whether preparing aspiring singers for the stage or helping beginning musicians discover their talent, Erin fosters an encouraging, technically sound, and artistically inspiring learning environment. Erin holds a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music.
